By Marc Stempka

DUBOIS, Pa. -- Police opened an investigation after a vehicle was found overturned, on fire and without any sign of a driver in Clearfield County Friday morning.

DuBois police said crews were dispatched to a vehicle accident in Seyler Alley at about 2:30 a.m. When police arrived on scene, the vehicle was found upside and on fire.

When the fire was extinguished, there was no sign of a driver, police said.

Officials contacted the owner of the vehicle, who lived in nearby Sandy Township, police said.

The unnamed owner believed the vehicle was stolen from her home.

DuBois police were assisted by the DuBois City Fire Department, Sandy Township police and the Pennsylvania State Police.

The investigation into the crash, fire and theft was continuing, police said.
