By: Kerri Corrado

NORTHERN CAMBRIA, Pa.

"It was above the ankles. There was just so much water. Everything was covered. The kid's stuff was floating. Water was under the carpets, lifting the carpets up," Coal County Daycare Director Erin Bougher said.

Coal Country Daycare in Northern Cambria left to pick up the pieces after flooding destroyed the entire floor.

"It kind of set me back he first time I walked in here," Lori Shutty said, who brings her daughter to the daycare.

"It was a shock. I didn't know whether to cry or what," Bougher said.

Left to start from scratch, Bougher was saddened by the damage and left to close to the daycare.

Forty-nine kids are enrolled from Northern Cambria and other surrounding counties.

Shutty says she wouldn't trust anyone to watch her daughter. She is just devastated by the news and is doing everything she can to help.

"I knew by the amount of stuff that was along the street, they had lost everything," Shutty added.

Daycare employees had to clear everything out that is below three feet and under, which is practically everything in a daycare such as tables, chairs, cubbies, and even all the toys.

"All of the toys because we didn't know what toys were in the water and were not. When your dealing with kids, we had to be safe and couldn't keep anything," Bougher said.

Cleaning companies were called in and supplies were donated. The community turning to help the Coal Country Daycare even when their own home are destroyed
