Police investigating several Huntingdon County business burglaries

At least five four businesses targeted

MOUNT UNION, Pa. -- State police at Huntingdon reported investigating at least five business burglaries in the Mount Union area over the past two weeks.

Police reported three overnight burglaries at businesses in Mount Union between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Police said someone broke into Brennemans Meat Mart at 214 S. Jefferson St. in Mount Union and stole a cash register.

Police also investigated a burglary at the Mount Union Sons of Italy club at 3 W. Water St., where an unknown amount of money was taken.

The same night, police said someone tried to break into Dimoffs Plumbing and Heating at 106 W. Walnut St. in Mount Union by prying open a window, but was unsuccessful.

6 News previously reported police investigated a burglary at Dimoffs Plumbing and Heating on Aug. 8 in which several items were taken.

Also under investigation was a burglary at Checkers Grill at 14294 Croghan Pike in Shirley Township, just outside of Mount Union.

Police said when employees went to open the restaurant, a cash register with approximately $250 was missing. That break-in happened overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday.

State police at Huntingdon were investigating the burglaries and asked anyone with information on any of the crimes to contact that barracks.
