Crash closes Rt. 219 in Elk County

Motorists advised to find alternate route

HORTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A crash closed a main roadway in Elk County Thursday morning.

Elk County emergency dispatch said Route 219 was closed in Horton Township, outside of Brockport, Elk County, due to a crash.

A dispatcher said the crash happened at about 6:40 a.m. and was near the Elk and Jefferson counties line.

PennDOT reported the crash involved down utility lines and would remain closed through at least 11 a.m.

Motorists who use Route 219 from Brockway, Jefferson County, through Brockport, Elk County, were being advised to find an alternate route, PennDOT said.
