Fireball erupts after collision on 219 in Clearfield Co.

BELL TOWNSHIP, Pa.

Emergency crews are on the scene of a two-vehicle accident on a busy roadway in Clearfield County.

6 News reporter Maria Miller reported from the scene that two trucks, a box truck and a coal truck collided on Route 219, just north of Mahaffey.

Clearfield County emergency dispatch said the accident was reported near the intersection of Route 219 and Kings Highway, in Bell Township, at about 1 p.m.  The crash was near the entrance of the Mahaffey Campground.  Information was not yet available about medical conditions of those involved in the crash.

Dispatchers said state police were investigating the crash.  

Miller reported that the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church was hosting a week-long camp at the Mahaffey Camp and Conference Center, thats entrance is where the accident happened.  An official with the camp said no one who was at the camp was involved or injured in the accident, Miller said.

PennDOT officials said Route 219 will have limited access around the crash location and will be controlled by flaggers.
