Fiery crash after box, coal trucks collide

Two trucks crashed in Clearfield Co. Wednesday afternoon.  A viewer captured the immediate aftermath, a huge fireball, on video.

Thousands of people, who were at a nearby camp, gathered to watch and described what they saw as shocking.

A box truck and coal truck slammed into each other just before 1 p.m. along Route 219 near Mahaffey.  Police said that Jeffrey Cox of Johnstown was driving the box truck and was take to UPMC Altoona.

They said Terry Crissman of DuBois was driving the coal truck and was taken to DuBois Regional Medical Center.

The coal truck overturned and its fuel lines actually exploded.

People staying at a church camp across the street saw the accident and rushed out of their cabins to see a ball of flames and a debris field hundreds of feet wide.
