Suspect loses his shoes during robbery

Police said a man robbed a woman outside an Altoona bank Thursday afternoon.  They said he got away with the money but left behind his shoes.

Police said the woman was walking toward an alley by the bank when a man came up and took a white envelop that held $200 from her.  He was able to get away, but police said he was shoeless.

"The actor had run out of his shoes as he was getting on a bike, Altoona Police Lt. Jeff Pratt said.

The shoes police found, a pair of pink Adidas sneakers

"(She was) robbed by a younger gentleman described to us a teenager, anywhere from the ages of 15- 18-years-old," Pratt said.

One of the witnesses chased the suspect in a pickup truck, Pratt said.  That person told police the thief ran out of his shoes while getting on his bike.

The woman had no injuries.

Police said the shoes are being sent to a lab for testing.  They ask anyone with information about this robbery to call them.
