By Marc Stempka
RIDGWAY, Pa. -- State police at Ridgway said Friday that a fire at a Ridgway borough maintenance garage was intentionally set and any persons involved may have been seen by several witnesses.
Police said the fire on July 26 started just after 6 p.m. and, due to the time and location of the fire on South Street, it is likely that witnesses may have seen the person or persons responsible for setting the fire.
Police said anyone with information, or anyone who may have seen pedestrians along that area of South Street at that time, are asked to contact Ridgway borough police at 814-773-5125 or Ridgway state police at 814-776-6136.
Previous 6 News reports said an estimated $35,000 in damage was done to the facility that was used to store road salt. No injuries were reported in the fire.
