Vandals break arm off church statue

DUBOIS, Pa. -- Police are searching for the person who vandalized a statue in front of a catholic church in DuBois.

Father Richard Siefer with St. Catherine of Siena church said all the broken parts, including an arm of the statue, were taken with the vandals.  The face of the Sacred Heart of Jesus statue was damaged and the chin broken off.

Siefer said he contacted police on Thursday, but a churchgoer said she noticed the damage a few days ago.

You think you've been violated, the statue has been here for a number of years it was donated long before I came here as a pastor, Siefer said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the DuBois police.
