By: WJAC Web Staff

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa.--

Police in Centre County were able to track down a car theft suspect by using a cellphone that was left in the vehicle.

Spring Township police said the car was stolen from an apartment parking lot in Bellefonte on Sept. 14. The victim's cellphone was still in the vehicle and police used it to track down the car in Bedford County.

From there, the victim was able to identify Stephen Cornwell Jr., of East Freedom, as the suspect.

Cornwell was arrested by Cresson Borough police in Cambria County on Friday evening and remained in jail Monday on $15,000 bond.
