NORTHERN CAMBRIA, Pa. -- Police in Cambria County are searching for a man they said is tied to an attempted abduction.

Northern Cambria borough police said the incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Monday on Bigler Avenue.

Police said a 10-year-old boy was walking down the street when a man driving a dark-colored car pulled beside him and asked the boy for directions to an area store.

The boy told police the man asked him to go with him and to get into his vehicle. Police said the man offered the boy candy.

The boy refused and police said the man got out of the vehicle and started to chase the boy down the street.

Police said the boy ran away through nearby yards and started screaming until the man got back into his car and drove away.

Police said they were working to gather a description of the man involved.

Anyone with additional information about this incident is asked to contact police.
