ST. MARYS, Pa. -- Several people were injured after a crash that caused a vehicle to roll down an embankment and into a creek, police said.

St. Marys police said the two-vehicle crash happened about 10 p.m. Wednesday along Route 255 (St. Marys Street) near Jeep Road.

Police said a pickup truck and car collided, causing the truck to go airborne over a guiderail, down an embankment and rolled into a creek.

Police said four people were in the truck, three were ejected or entrapped, and one was able to walk back to the roadway. The driver of the car was not injured.

Police said those in the truck were extricated by firefighters and taken to area hospitals for treatment. One was taken by medical helicopter to UPMC Altoona and the others were taken to Elk Regional Medical Center. Their conditions were not immediately known.

The names of those involved in the crash were not known.

Police said their investigation continued.
