HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. -- A popular morning radio host in the Altoona and Johnstown areas will be making a move to a different station.
JoJo, host of JoJo in the Morning on Hot 92 and Hot 100, WJHT-FM and WWOT-FM, announced that beginning Monday, his show would be moving to WFGY-FM, Froggy 98.1.
JoJo will be taking control of the board in the mornings at Froggy following the death of Steve Frogman Kelsey, Froggys longtime morning radio host. Kelsey, whose real name was Rob Terdiman, died in November after suffering a stroke.
JoJo in the Morning started in 2011 and has built a strong fan base among listeners throughout several counties.
JoJo said in a statement read on air and posted on his shows Facebook page on Friday morning, that he would be happy staying with Hot 92 and Hot 100, but said this move is part of a bigger plan.
I would be happy doing what Im doing with you on Hot 92 and Hot 100 for years to come, but sometimes theres something bigger for us than what we have planned for ourselves, JoJo said.
JoJo said he has been in radio more than 20 years and has worked in several different cities, but west-central Pennsylvania is a unique, special place.
Im happy doing what I do. Its really all Ive ever done except for those times between radio jobs when I took whatever gig I could get to make ends meet, JoJo said.
JoJo said depending on how the show is received on Froggy 98 will determine whether or not he will be staying there, or moving back to Hot 92 and Hot 100.
Froggy 98 and Hot 92 and Hot 100 are owned by Forever Broadcasting, based in Hollidaysburg.
