State trooper injured in Blair Co. crash

ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was injured in a crash that occurred while he was stopped to help a disabled motorist, police said.
State police at Hollidaysburg said Trooper Robert Colondo, 42, of Hollidaysburg, had stopped his patrol vehicle to assist to a motorist when a second motorist crossed into the right berm and struck Colondos car.
Police said the crash happened at about 4:30 p.m. Friday along Route 22 west in Allegheny Township, Blair County, about a mile before the Cambria County line.
Police said Colondo stopped to assist Susan Bradley, 52, of Ebensburg.
As Colondo was stopping his vehicle, his cruiser was struck by a vehicle being driven by Martha Marsh, 67, of Smethport, police said. The force of Marshs vehicle striking Colondos vehicle pushed his vehicle into Bradleys vehicle.
Colondo needed to be extricated from the police car by firefighters, police said.
Police said Colondo and Marsh suffered moderate injuries and Marsh suffered major injuries in the crash. All three were taken to UPMC Altoona for treatment.
Police said Marsh would be cited for careless driving.
