Victims unable to call police for help after home invasion

By: WJAC Web Staff

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Police are looking for three suspects who are at the center of a home invasion in the west end section of Johnstown.

Police said the suspects kicked in the door of a Laurel Avenue home demanding money and phones.

With no phones to contact police, the victims went to their neighbors for help.

I opened the door and theres this girl standing there shaking and crying saying she had been robbed at gunpoint, said neighbor Ron.

Neighbors in that area of town are frightened after one person was shot and killed a few weeks ago while another was wounded at the nearby Oakhurst Homes.

Ron said he never met the girl despite her only living a small distance away.

She said she came here because she saw the lights on, it was the only place she saw with lights on, said Ron.

Several neighbors who were afraid to go on camera told 6 News they did not know anything that occurred that night and the idea of someone busting into their neighbors home was terrifying.

Police were not able to say how much money the suspects ran off with but they said the investigation is to continue.
