Area parents raising money for handicap accessible playground equipment

By: WJAC Web Staff

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The Richland Township School District PTO in Cambria County organized a successful event to raise money for handicap accessible playground equipment.

The event had a basket and raffle party, a spaghetti dinner and a baked goods sale.

The money raised is to be used to buy a wheel chair swing and a handicap accessible merry-go-round.

We want to expand our playground to include items so that the children are able to play, said Richland PTO member Amanda Bowes.

Organizers said the equipment can be used by kids with any type of disability.

6 News was told the turnout exceeded expectations.
