Crews battled 5-acre brush fire Saturday

By: WJAC Web Staff

PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Deputy chief from Everett Fire Company Jim Stone said a 5-acre fire had crews battling it for nearly three hours.

Stone said crews were on scene from 11:53 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.

The blaze started from a debris burning barrel and burned roughly 5 acres of land, Stone said.

The dry and windy conditions made it difficult to get to the fire and two ATV were brought in to get to the head of the fire.

There were no reported injuries and three fire companies responded: Everett, Breezewood and Six Mile Run.
