By: Lauren Hensley
STATE COLLEGE, Pa.-- Many 6News viewers have been wondering where spring is spring. Well the vendors of the Home and Garden Show are bringing a little of that springtime magic to the community. This is the 30th year for the event that was held at the Byrce Jordan Center in State College Saturday. Hundreds of people went to visit dozens of vendors showcasing the work of many local companies have to offer.
6News took this opportunity to speak with the experts at Scott's Landscaping to find out if this extreme winter will impact home gardens.
It could if you have marginal plants that haven't gone through a hard winter before, you may see some effects on those plants in having this deep cold and also because the cold season has been so long that can also have an effect, Kristen Austin, Landscape Designer with Scotts Landscaping, said.
Austin said planters need to seriously start thinking about their garden now and begin planting when the ground is thawed out. She said it could be several more weeks.
