Accident remains under investigation

By Marc Stempka

QUEMAHONING TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Somerset County man was killed in a Tuesday afternoon collision with a tri-axle truck.

Cambria County First Deputy Coroner Pete Long said William Taylor, 47, of Boswell, was killed after the car he was driving collided with the rear of a truck in Quemahoning Township.

Long said Taylor was driving west on Route 30 when Taylor, for unknown reasons, collided into the rear of the disabled truck that was parked along the side of the road near the Route 219 interchange.

Taylor was flown from the scene to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center where he died, Long said. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

State police at Somerset was handling the investigation.
