Windber Middle School students learn about the American Revolution

A new social studies curriculum for eighth-grade students at Windber Middle School included acting out the American Revolution.

The students were split into teams representing the British and the Colonists and the game rigged to show students how the war was fought.

All kinds of questions, not about the game but about the material, said eighth-grade Teacher Kristen Blackburn. To further it even more was a big accomplishment.

The new curriculum is being tested with one group of students and if it is successful it will be expanded into next year.
