Johnstown shooting victim dies

Just days after undergoing emergency surgery, the man police said was shot in Johnstowns West End died.

Police said the case is now considered a homicide.

Cambria County's deputy coroner Jeff Lees said 37-year-old Leslie Schetrompf died Saturday in the hospital.

Johnstown police said Lemmel Myers shot Schetrompf in the leg over a $20 debt.

It happened Wednesday outside an apartment building along Fairfield Ave.

Schetrompf was driven to the Giant Eagle grocery store parking lot down the street where police found him.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.  Myers is in jail.  Police said they expect to charge him with homicide.
