CAMBRIA TOWNSHIP, Pa. Police make three arrests after assault rifles, a loaded handgun and drugs were found in a camper on a Cambria County campground.
While searching for individuals wanted on outstanding warrants, police made the weapons and drug discovery Tuesday afternoon at Woodland Campground in Cambria Township, off of Route 22, near Ebensburg.
Two of those arrested were wanted on warrants, and the third, was arrested for allegedly putting a 2-year-old in harms way.
Cambria Township police said Joshua Holliday and Daniel Taddy were arrested on the warrants issued by the Cambria County Sheriff's Department.
While serving the warrants, sheriff's deputies discovered five long rifles and one loaded handgun. None of the weapons were licensed to the men staying there.
"We searched the premises and found multiple stolen weapons [and] drug paraphernalia, which was all in the reach of the 2-year-old child, Cambria Township Police Officer Andy Intihar said.
Whitney Norbin was charged with child endangerment and drug charges as a result of the search of the property. Police said she was the mother of the young boy who was at the camp. Hes now in the custody of his grandmother.
Police said the boy was in the camper where loaded syringes and loaded guns were everywhere.
Intihar said Holliday and Taddy were on the run for months. Neighbors at the campground told 6 News the two men had not been staying there long.
"At any point in time those guns are volatile. If [the boy] would've knocked one of those guns over, it would've been bad, Intihar said. "The way that park is set up, they're so close that a round could go through the walls and kill somebody else.
Holliday and Taddy were placed in the Cambria County jail on a detainer for the warrants. Police said more charges are expected to be filed when the investigation was complete.
