Young boy dedicates birthday party to charity

A local youngster decided to throw a different kind of birthday party, a baseball game to benefit a charity.

Instead of having a traditional 8th birthday party, Sam Penna organized a baseball game and asked for donations to a charity rather than gifts.

"I really want to help the needy so they dont die of hunger," Penna said.

Instead of gifts, Penna asked everyone to bring donations for the St. Vincent De Paul Society.

Penna organzed a baseball bash, inviting friends and family, hoping this would help raise money.

Family and friends gathered at Highland Park to play ball.

"I just want to give back to the world of what I have," he said.
