HARRISBURG A Pennsylvania appeals court has moved the appeal hearing scheduled in September for convicted child sexual abuser and former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky.
On Wednesday, the state Superior Court issued an order moving the oral appeal arguments in the case from Dallas High School to the Luzerne County Courthouse in downtown Wilkes-Barre.
The hearing is now scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sept. 17. The session was previously scheduled for 9 a.m. on the same date in the high schools auditorium.
As per any court proceeding in a courthouse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, cameras and audio and video recording equipment isnt allowed to be used in the courtroom. Limited recording device permission was originally granted when the hearing was to be in the high school.
Sandusky was convicted in June 2012 on 45 counts of child sexual abuse and was sentenced to 30-60 years at a state prison in Greene County, Pa.
