Waste workers get strange job, destroy cases of beer

By Gary Sinderson

CENTRE CO., Pa. -- Nearly 2,000 cases of beer were thrown out in Centre County.

Workers at the Centre County Solid Waste Authority were tasked with dumping more than 4,300 gallons of beer down a drain Wednesday.

Officials at the authority said they had to destroy the beer because it was in a truck that crashed on Interstate 80.

The metal from the can of Old Milwaukee Beer were crushed.  The authority workers had to hose down the machinery so the workplace didnt smell like a brewery, officials said.
