By: WJAC Web Staff

For the second time in as many weeks, drenching rains and flash flooding forced an area school district to cancel classes

Last Wednesday, it was North Star schools. Tuesday, the Northern Cambria district was closed after Monday evening's downpours dropped more than two inches of rain on that community.

Water flooded 11th Street in Northern Cambria borough, and Route 219 was also closed for some time due to flooding. The road had reopened by noon on Tuesday.

In addition, Mondays storm knocked out power to parts of Cambria County. Penelec crews worked through the night to restore power to affected areas.
