Cambria Co. man pleads guilty to murdering toddler

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa.--


A Cambria County man charged in the death of a toddler he was baby-sitting admitted on Thursday to killing the child.

Patrick Burkett pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in the death of 22-month-old Raegan Panick.

Burkett was watching the toddler while the child's mother was at work in August 2012. When the mother returned home, the toddler was unresponsive. The child was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she later died.

A criminal complaint said the toddler had a fractured skull.

Burkett is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 7.
