Fire destroys Johnstown duplex, leaves 2 families homeless

JOHNSTOWN, Pa.--Johnstown firefighters responded to a fast-moving fire in a duplex in the city Wednesday night.

A Johnstown assistant fire chief said two families are homeless after the fire destroyed there duplex on the 300 block of Linden Avenue in the Moxham neighborhood.

The chief said everyone, including pets, were able to escape.

"It was a very devastating fire for the families, Assistant Fire Chief Neil Crossen said.  Theyre going to need a lot of help and a lot of resources going forward from here.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
