Johnstown grocery store gets facelift

By: WJAC Web Staff

A discount grocery store in Johnstown has reopened with a new look.

The ALDI on Galleria Drive now has improved lighting, higher ceilings and environmentally friendly building materials.

The store held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday morning for its grand reopening. The store has been in the same location for 20 years, and officials said it was in need of a facelift.

"It's actually the oldest store in western Pennsylvania. So, for us, this is an exciting time to remodel the store and showcase all the products we have to offer for the customers, said Brent Laubaugh, ALDI vice president.

ALDI has more than 1,200 stores in 32 states.
