Unique fundraiser helps fight cancer

By Deven Clarke

DUBOIS, Pa. -- If you live in the DuBois area, you could wake up or come home from work to find a purple toilet in your yard, but don't worry it's not a prank.

It means you've been flushed. Karen Mains started the purple flush fundraiser for the relay for life in DuBois. For $20, Mains will take the purple toilet she painted and designed herself, along with a letter of explanation to an unsuspecting persons yard.

That person can then pay the same price to flush someone else, pay $10 to have it removed or $30 will have it removed indefinitely.

So far, Mains has raised hundreds of dollars, and she says every penny goes to the American Cancer Society, for cancer research.
