Woman accused of $300,000 theft in Jefferson Co.

Police: Thefts occurred over five-year period

POLK TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Jefferson County woman is accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from two people over a period of five years.

State police at DuBois said Nichola Jane Thomas, 45, of Brockway, allegedly stole more than $300,000 from two victims checking account over a period of five years.

Police said the victims, who were not named, are a 78-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man.

Online court records show Thomas was arraigned Wednesday on 730 charges related to theft by deception and theft by unlawful taking.

Records show Thomas was placed in the Jefferson County Jail on $350,000 bond and was awaiting a preliminary hearing.
