State College again working to remove crows

By: WJAC Web Staff

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Officials in State College have begun another round of crow removal activities as crews work to move a large number of the birds from the downtown area.

Borough workers began the crow harassment project Thursday night, utilizing pyrotechnic bangers and screams to disperse the birds in hopes of them relocating out of the downtown area.

Officials said a large number of crows have been spotted roosting downtown, creating unsanitary and unpleasant conditions. The goal of project is to discourage mass roosting and unsanitary conditions.

Crews will continue the crow removal work Friday night between 7 and 9:30 p.m.
