Cambria Co. man accused of sexually assaulting teenager

SUMMERHILL TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Police in Cambria County have arrested a man on charges of raping a mentally-challenged teenager and using Facebook to talk to her about having sex.

Summerhill Township police arrested David Eugene Carman, Jr., of Beaverdale, on Monday in the alleged sexual assault of the 16-year-old girl. Police said the girl has a diminished mental capacity.

Police wrote in court paperwork that Carman sexually assaulted the girl at least six times between May and December 2013, and the two would converse about the sex through chatting on Facebook, using a the code word talk to describe the alleged sex.

Police charged Carman with rape, aggravated indecent assault of a person with mental disabilities, corruption of minors and several other charges.

Carmen was placed in the Cambria County Jail on $100,000 bail, police said.
