Police: Shots fired on E. 6th Ave in Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. -- On Sunday night around 6:35 police were dispatched to the 100 block of E. 6th Ave in Altoona for reported shots fired.

Police said once on scene they started to set a perimeter and told neighbors to stay away.

During this time, police said Michael Turiano exited his residence and shot several rounds in the direction of the officers.

Police were able to get in phone contact with Turiano and during that short conversation Turiano cooperated with Detective Sergeant Matthew Starr to exit the residence.

Turiano was transported to Blair County Central Booking for arraignment on number charges including assault of law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, terrorist threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, and discharging firearm within city limits.

Also assisting was Pennsylvania State Police, Logan Township police, Allegheny Township police, Hollidaysburg Borough police and A.M.E.D.
