STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The State College community along with people all over the world mourned the loss of a local legend.

Thelma T. Price was celebrated with a memorial service is at the State College Assembly of God on Saturday.

She was a pioneer in the civil rights movement and first black vice president of Penn State student affairs.

She did everything for Stanford children, said her grandson Carl Proby. She had the moms kitchen, she made sure everybody felt equal and everybody was taken care of.
