Route 45 to be named after local hero

By: WJAC Web Staff

FERGUSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- State Rep. Scott Conklin said the house unanimously passed legislation that would change a section of route 45 in Pine Grove Mills to Sergeant Adam Hartswick interchange.

A plan to rename part of a road after a local war hero is one step closer to become a reality.

Hartswick, who is a State College graduate, lost both of his legs while on duty in Afghanistan last spring.

This is a small token that we can do to appreciate his bravery and his commitment that hes given this county but most of all the local people right here in Centre County, said Conklin.

The Department of Transportation will be required to put up signs identifying the renamed road.
