Police: Johnstown shooting victims were targeted

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- While police continue to remain tight-lipped about a fatal shooting in Cambria County from over the weekend, investigators do believe the victims were targeted.
Two people were shot just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday outside of building 36 at the Oakhurst Homes housing complex, in the Oakhurst section of Johnstown.
Police said 27-year-old Jareek Adams was killed and a second person, whom police have not identified, was taken to a hospital.
Cambria County Chief Deputy Coroner Jeffrey Lees pronounced Adams dead at the scene. Police said the other victim was last reported to be in stable condition.
Johnstown Police Chief Craig Foust said Monday investigators believed the two were targeted, but he declined to give specifics about why the two were shot.
Lees said Adams died from a single gunshot wound to the head. Investigators would not give specifics about the type of gunshot wounds suffered by the second victim.
Foust said investigators are continuing to investigate any leads but were not able to say whether or not they had any indications on a suspect or suspects.
