By: WJAC Web Staff

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- With university shootings being in the media press recently, Penn State is making preparations.

Penn State is not going to add more officers to the streets because of the shootings.

Classes are being offered to students, faculty and staff and train them on how to handle the stressful time.

We really try to emphasize to take care of you, said Penn State University Assistant Police Chief Bill Moerschbacher. Have a situation preplanned you dont have to be expert but think about what you would do.

Police said knowing the building you are in is the most important and having an emergency backup plan is imperative in staying safe.
