Local teams gathered to honor the annual Brad Wess Memorial

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Hockey teams around the Cambria County area faced off Sunday night in honor of a teenager who was killed in a vehicle accident.
The annual Brad Wess Memorial held eight teams who met on the ice at the War Memorial in Johnstown to play for a great cause.
Wess was a junior at Forest Hills when he died in a car accident in 2007.
Teams from the PIHL and Laurel Mountain League combined for about 61 players to take the ice.
One senior could have received a scholarship as a result of the scholastic showcase.
I really think this game here will really give the seniors a really good memory, its a good game, its not a checking game, said volunteer Mike McCall.
Seniors had to submit an essay proving good grades, community service, leadership and sportsmanship to qualify for the scholarship.
