Hundreds of families enjoy Spikefest

By: Lauren Hensley

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Hundreds of families brought their little ones out for one of the areas biggest winter indoor activities, Spikesfest.  It is an indoor carnival hosted by The State College Spikes in the multi-sport facility on Penn States campus.

Organizers said this is a good way to bring families out from the winter cold and think ahead to spring and baseball season.  We caught up to the general manger of the Spikes to find out what they have in store for this years baseball season.

Well behind the scenes we've started planning the 2014 season since the last pitch was thrown in 2013. We've been at it since September we've been doing all we can to upgrade the ballpark, put a great schedule together all the little things that go into operating a baseball team, Jason Dambach, the senior vice president and general manager said.

Only four more months remain until the Spikes take the field in June.
