Emergency officials attend annual training

By: WJAC Web Staff

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Emergency responders in Cambria County joined together for an annual training.

Representatives from several fire and police departments, St. Francis University, 911 and the Department of Environmental Protect took part in a national incident management class, also known as NIMS.

This gives responders a chance to solve problems in a controlled environment.

They learned how to work together at large-scale emergencies and disasters.

"Quecreek was an example where there was multiple states and federal agencies coming together," said instructor Kim Houser. "This class helps your local emergency response people to work together with all these specialty assets coming in."

Each county across the state usually holds a training class annually.
