Blood drive held to at Centre County elementary school

By: Lauren Hensley

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. --  Pint sized heroes that are the name of a blood drive at Easterly Parkway Elementary School. Staffers organized the blood drive in memory of one of their co-worker's father.

Dawn Gregory's father passed away from cancer in 2012. This is the second year they have organized a blood donation in his name and Gregory couldn't have been more pleased with the turn out.

I am just overwhelmed live, it just emotionally overwhelms me because like I said my father has so many transfusions this is our way of giving back, Gregory said.

Organizer said about 45 people showed up to donate blood.
