Mother of missing Centre Co. woman asking public for help

By: Lauren Hensley

FERGUSON TOWNSHIP, Pa.-- It's been nearly 60 days since one Centre County woman has disappeared and now her family is speaking out.  Jennifer Shadle went missing on May 13th.  Area businesses have a missing persons' poster in their storefront windows in case anyone has seen Shadle.

"It's been 2 months now and I am frantic,"    Johanna Zmuida, Shadle's mother said.

According to Zmuida, her daughter went missing on May 13 but an official missing person's report was not issued until a month later.

Zmuida explained Shadle moved back in with her following a divorce.  But back in April, Shadle wanted to move back to Ferguson Township to be closer to her three children.

"She missed the children and she decided that she wanted to move back to State College to be closer to the children.  So we took her back April 29. She was calling me every two to three days," Zmuida said.

According to police, Shadle was last seen at the North Atherton Walmart on May 13 and her mother has an urgent message for anyone who was there that day.

"My message would be, think if this were your child, certainly would you want someone to come forward and help you find your child," Zmuida said.

Shadle was seen on surveillance video leaving Walmart around 5.

"It's a mystery.  Poof she disappeared. It is so important to try and find her. It is two months later I know she didn't leave town and she really cared about her children. I just plea for anyone with any information to come forward," Zmuida said.
