DUBOIS, Pa. -- A Clearfield County man is in the county prison and faces several charges after he broke into a woman’s house, according to police.

DuBois police said the man, who was not identified, broke into a woman's home just before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Spruce Alley.

The victim told police she heard a noise in her house, and when she went to see what happened she saw a man hiding behind a chair, police said. She told police the man ran out of the house.

Police said they searched the area, but didn't locate the man. Through their investigation, police developed information that the man and woman knew each other.

Police were able to locate the man at his residence. Police said he admitted to committing the break-in, and said he was able to get inside the woman's home through a second-story window.

Police said the man was arrested for trespassing and other charges. He was placed in the Clearfield County Jail.
