UPJ Volleyball Continuing Historic Run In NCAA's

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP -- After winning the PSAC championship in its first year in the league, the Pitt-Johnstown women's volleyball team is preparing for its first run in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

UPJ will face conference foe Shippensburg in the first round in Wheeling on Thursday. The Lady Cats lost 3-1 to the Raiders in both meetings this season.

"We have the ability to beat them," junior outside hitter Kelsey Shanabrook told 6 Sports' Ashley Chase. "Now we have that extra drive and motivation."

"The journey isn't over," added head coach Joanna Haupt. "We're going to keep working hard.
