PSU wraps Signing Day with "Signature Event"

UNIVERSITY PARK -- James Franklin wrapped up his first National Signing Day at Penn State with a party.

And he invited a few thousand of his closest friends to join him.

Franklin hosted Penn State's first "Signature Event," a public gathering at the Bryce Jordan Center where the "Lion King" introduced all 25 members of the Nittany Lions' 2014 recruiting class.

WJAC-TV Sports Reporter Ashley Chase brings you the sights and sounds of the event.

Franklin was joined by former linebacker and current Minnesota Vikings player Michael Mauti and All-American LaVar Arrington, who also served as emcee for the evening. Current players QB Christian Hackenberg and CB Jordan Lucas also spoke to the crowd.

Franklin says he expects to make the "Signature Event" an annual activity on National Signing Day.
