Losing in Pitt's Head

By Pat Welter

Imagine if that Tyler Ennis buzzer beater didn't go in.  Coach speak will tell you the team moves on, it's just another game, but the Pitt Panthers had the number one Syracuse Orange beat.

If that shot didn't go in Pitt would have a resume win that would have been echoed on selection sunday.  A win that could have filled the Panthers with confidence down the stretch.

Instead the shot went in, a shot coach Boeheim even acknowledged was lucky.  Losers of three straight and five of their last seven, the Panthers could use some luck.  With four regular season games remaining the Panthers are blowing a bubble that if something doesn't change could pop.

After sunday's loss to Florida State, Jamie Dixon said that wasn't the team he saw in practice.  Dixon and Cameron Wright acknowledged the problem now appears to be in their heads.
