Not too many people love to do laundry, but one product promises to save time and money when it comes to drying clothes.

Dryer Max Anti-Static Balls promise to eliminate dryer static without chemicals. So should you throw out your dryer sheets? Local mom Charlene Kulick put them to the test.

The mother of two said she knows that the pile of dirty clothes never ends and that usually means rows of products to help get the job done.

THUMBS DOWN -- TRY IT TUESDAY

The dryer balls promise to eliminate dryer static without chemicals, plus say they're safe for all fabrics and reusable.

The claims are sure to make anyone smile -- especially Kulick, who said she does laundry all weekend when her children come home from college.

After using the product through a complete cycle, Kulick said she didn't find any static cling but said there were a few problems.

First, Kulick said it wasn't clear when to replace the dryer balls. She also said they were very noisy when in the dryer. In terms of cost, the average box of dryer sheets cost about $3 to $4, and the dryer balls cost $9.99 for two.

The dryer max anti-static balls didn't meet Charlene's expectation, so for that, she gave them a thumbs down.
