This week's Try It Thursday puts LA's Totally Awesome to the test, a cleaning product that claims to remove just about any stain.

The instructions say to simply spray the product on the stain then wipe it off -- and it only costs $1.

Our tester, Channel 6 News reporter Rich Klindworth, tested the stain in his living room where a spilled drink left the carpet spotted for months. After testing it on the carpet, he found the product did work. But after testing LA's Totally Awesome on grass-stained clothing, Rich found it didn't completely remove the stains.

In the microwave, the product worked much better, removing food particles, but it did not remove stains that were set in.

Still, Klindworth said he would purchase the product.

"Even though it didn't clean to what I was really looking for, it did pick up that one stain on the carpet. And if it picks up that stain and it's only a buck, it's worth it," he said. "But, other than that, I wasn't that impressed. It wasn't as totally awesome as I was hoping it was going to be."
