Try It Thursday Tests The Smart Shopper

The Smart Shopper is a unique shopping list organizer that uses voice recognition and claims to be friendly technology that simplifies life.

Stacy Cahill, a mom who is responsible for keeping her family of five happy and full, makes a visit or two each week to the grocery story and jots down a list on a piece of paper.

Following the instructions, Stacy pressed record and spoke an item into the Smart Shopper. The device recognized some easy items, like milk, but when she tried to add dog food, the device registered "dough, mall and dip."

Stacey began adding new items into the database by navigating through the alphabet, something that proved to be difficult and took a combined effort to figure out.

Next, Stacy made a list of items she needed and, with a push of a button, the list organized the items into categories and printed the list out.

At the store, Stacey said the trip was definitely easier because of the Smart Shopper.

THUMBS UP -- TRY IT TUESDAY

"It puts them in categories, you can add quantities to it; you can even add coupons to it so you don't forget to use it when you're in the checkout line," she said.

For making a busy mom's shopping trip that much easier, the Smart Shopper got a thumbs-up.

There are over 2,500 items in the Smart Shopper's library and it also keeps track of errands like trips to the bank, post office and pharmacy.
